Lazy Day...

To day is definitely a lazy day for the McClure family! When I woke up this morning I knew it was gonna be the kind of day where you don't get out of you jammies :)
I let Dublin eat his breakfast on the couch (shh don't tell Daddy) and watch his cartoons while I fed Tessa.
After eating I put Tessa in her "bear"suit as we call it. This is like a treat for her, she passes out as soon as she sees it :) Especially after she has a full belly! I won't be hearing a peep outta her for a few hours haha.
Now I'm debating as to whether or not I should get ready for the day or sit here and blog some more...It's just every time I don't do my make-up someone shows up at my doorstep. And I really hate when people see me with out my "face" on. Ugh I'm really paranoid now so I'm off to shower and put on some foundation.
I will be back later to blog some more because well it's a lazy day (my favorite kind :))

Dublin + Library = Urgent Care

Well today started off normal enough and then I had the thought that since it was a beautiful day and the kids were both in a good mood we would get out of the house and run some errands. We went to Target first because...well because I love Target and I couldn't wait to walk around and take in all of the beauty it has to offer :) After finishing up at Target I decided to run to the library where I had a couple of books on hold for me. Sounds innocent enough right? Wrong!
First I had to park what seems like a mile away and then tote an infant car seat and an energetic toddler inside, make my way to the holding shelves and start searching for my books. Dublin must have known I was gonna have to let go of his hand when I was searching for my books because as soon as I did let go he took off running as fast as his little legs would carry him, and I'm definitely not one of those mom's who let their children run around and scream in public places (maybe I should be). After chasing him, while holding the car seat, I brought him back and was prepared to start my search again. Once again he knew I was gonna have to let go for a split second and when I did he was ready but this time I was able to catch him by the hand before he could go anywhere. And as soon as I did he used his defense mechanism, go totally limp and become dead weight. I was definitely not expecting that and as soon as he went limp he fell back and hit the back of his head on the metal shelving.
That's when he let out a blood curdling scream and I saw the blood gushing out of his head. As a mom that is something that no one should have to see, their baby crying in pain like that. All I remember is running with Dublin in one arm and Tessa in the other up to the security guard and asking him to help me, I don't think he could even understand me because I was sobbing and Dublin was screaming. Then he saw the back of Dublin's head and he started fumbling around trying to open his first aid kit while one of the librarians called the paramedics.
The paramedics were there seriously in under 2 mins and the firemen (not sure why we needed them) share the parking lot with the library so they were there uber fast. After a quick check up they told me to either ride in the ambulance with them or take him to urgent care to get stitches. After a quick call to Steven to tell him what was going on we headed over to urgent care and he met us there. By the way I think urgent care should change their name to molasses slow, we were there for 3 1/2 hours!! Holy moly it's a good thing he wasn't dying. After the Dr. finally came in he pulled out his stapler and told Steven to hold Dublin down, that's when I started to cry again. Poor Dublin hadn't he been through enough already?? He was screaming and crying, I was crying, Tessa was sleeping again and Steven looked like he was going nuts stuck in the tiny room. So once the Dr said we could leave I think there were flames under our feet we were gone so fast. haha. Now I have to make an appt to get the staple taken out...fun.
Well I 'm gonna go cuddle with Dublin and watch tv...he's finally in a cuddle mood :)
This was Tessa while all this was going on.
Watching tv in the exam room.
Trying to run away from mom again, guess he didn't learn his lesson.

It doesn't look so bad here but I promise it's gross.

I heart V-day!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

This morning Steven had early meetings at church so it was just me and the kids this morning, now normally Dublin comes in a wakes me up and then I get us ready for church but not this morning. No this morning he had plans for me, or well he had a surprise for me. All I remember is Steven coming home and in the bedroom and saying "DUBLIN PAUL (yes he used the middle name) what do you think you're doing?!?!?!"
Well I guess Dublin wanted to paint me something for Valentines day because he found my craft paint (light and hot pink) and started painting my bed, the floor, a drawer and himself. I could not believe it! This is totally out of character for him, so after a long talk and bath I got him ready for church while Steven pulled out the carpet cleaner and got to work. Luckily it was just craft paint and it came out of everything but I'm not sure if I like these terrible twos!
After a rough start this morning we decided to keep it simple and spend Valentines day at home as a family (not like I could really go anywhere without Tessa anyways). We had some really yummy steak, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes...soooo good. All in all I enjoyed V-day even if it did involve doing load of pink paint laundry and carpet cleaning :)
Steven, Dublin and Tessa I LOVE you and I hope you all enjoyed spending your day with me as much as I did with all of you!

1 month old...

Happy 1 month baby girl!

Yesterday Tessa turned 1 month old! Where does the time go?? Seriously this first month has just flown by so quickly!
She weighs 8 lbs 4 oz (still not back to her birth weight)

And is a little over 20 inches long
She is doing great, meeting milestones everyday and her personality is really starting to show.
She has the sweetest spirit, I think she's going to be a very kind and loving person.
Despite being so sweet and calm she knows how to chow down like a little piggy! I'm so grateful for the fact that she's a fantastic eater :)
Favorite thing to do: Sleep
I've always enjoyed my sleep but she puts me to shame! This kid can sleep, and I'm NOT complaining! Her absolute favorite is sleeping on our chest (thanks a lot Caitlin! haha).

She still hasn't slept in her crib...maybe soon. I think I enjoy having her in our room because it's so close and in the middle of the night I'm really lazy and don't wanna walk down the hall to feed her :)
What she hates the most: having her diaper changed and unfortunately she make a lot of dirty diapers!

She is also getting so much stronger, she holds her head up so much better. That is something I've had to get used to, Dublin was able to hold his head up since he was born but I guess that's just part of being a tank :) Watching Dublin and Tessa together really makes my heart melt :)

FINALLY!!

So tonight Tessa's umbilical cord finally fell off!! It took a little help though. Tomorrow she will be one month old (gasp! where does the time go??) and her cord showed no sign off leaving anytime soon so Monday I took her to her Doctor and he put silver nitrate on to speed things up.
The down side to the silver nitrate is it turns everything black! Like the brand new adorable onsie I put her in!
So tonight as we were sitting down watching American Idol I looked over at her and something was different...there was no big ugly black cord looking back at me! I was thrilled!! Except for the fact that I couldn't find the cord anywhere! I waited one month for this stupid thing to fall off and as soon as it did it vanished into thin air (I started to think her belly button ate it). Then after 10 minutes of searching it magically appeared in the middle of the couch where we had been searching the whole time!
Look at this baby mullet!! She has a thick patch of hair in the back, it's too funny! It's all business in the front and party in the back :)
She's such a cutie!

Blessing Day

Tessa was blessed in church this past Sunday by her awesome dad. We were so lucky to have my parents, Caitlin, Aubrey, my grandparent's and Steven mom there to support us (thank you!). It was such a special day and and I'm so proud of Steven for giving such a beautiful blessing and for being the righteous man he is today. It's crazy to see how our baby girl is growing up so fast, each day with her is such an amazing gift. Tessa baby I love you!!

Party time...

WARNING: lots of pictures!!
Dublin had his 2nd birthday party today, it was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed party and I have to say it was really cute! We had been talking about throwing a huge party and inviting all his little play friends but in the end we decided to have a small family party.

Yummy!!!
I decided to make funfetti cupcakes this year instead of a store bought cake and they came out AMAZING! I don't mean to toot my own horn but toot toot haha. The yellow was the best!
The cute banner I made.
A close up of the banner, not bad for doing it at 1:30 a.m.
Family photo! We're sooo cute!
Me and my sweet baby girl.
Opening some of his gifts, he got soo many cute outfits this year! I think I enjoyed all his presents this year more than he did haha.

Great grandma and Great grandpa Challman with Tessa. Grandma held Tessa almost the whole party! It was really awesome to watch.
Me and mommy.
Me and Caitlin.
Dublin was so excited to eat his cupcake he kept blowing out the candle before we could even sing happy birthday to him! I was so funny!

Take two!
He had to lick it first to make sure he really wanted it haha
Yup it yummy! He did exactly what he did last year, he dips his finger in the frosting and then licks it off. He HATES to be messy and that's the cleanest way he can eat cake haha. It's hard to believe my baby is two...but it was a lot of fun to celebrate!

Haha he is just way too cute! He finally has shown interest in potty training!
He keeps one of his little CARS books next to his seat as reading material haha
I really hope he continues to show interest and potty trains himself for me :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUBLIN!!

Happy birthday to you

Happy birthday to you

Happy birthday dear Dublin

Happy birthday to you!!!

I love you Dublin!! Happy 2nd birthday sweetie! I can't believe you're already 2 years old, I love watching you grow everyday and you amaze me more and more everytime I see you. I hope you enjoyed every second of your special day!

What are little girls made of...

Um eww how can something so cute and small do something like this?!
A diaper change should not result in a bath!! But unbeknownst to me she wasn't done when I started changing her and it only got worse.
I'm thinking about buying stock in spray and wash.

she was so bored with all the modeling she had to do

she did NOT wanna take her binky out

finally a picture without the binky!
it's back! that didn't last long...

she really did fall asleep for a few mins during "the shoot"

Such a sweetie! I really enjoy having my little girl that I can dress up and play with.
