4th of July 2011

This is way late but here was our 4th of July. 4th of July morning we had a breakfast at Church which included water games and a softball game. It was fun, Steve played some games and I chit chatted with friends and watched the kids play. I don't have any pictures because I forgot to put the battery back in the camera after charging it all night long. Needless to say I missed out on some really cute pictures :( After that we hung out at home and waited for the evening to begin. Tessa just looked so cute in her red sparkly shoes (even if they were just a little too big for her feet).
Dublin and his Grandpa Horne. We spent 4th of July with Steve's family this year.
Dublin was so excited to help his Daddy pick out and buy all the fireworks. After that it was just waiting for it to get dark enough to set them off.
I thought it was hilarious that Tessa wanted to sit like this. If I set her in the chair the right was she would slouch down and put her feet in the air again.

Still waiting...
first sparkler of the night.
Dublin is kinda pro at sparklers :)

And the first firework of the night. It freaked Tessa out and she started crying immediately. This year she was not a fan of fireworks :(

My poor baby freaking out. Luckily after awhile she started to like all the colors, she just didn't like any noisy fireworks.
Enjoying the show :)
After Emily showed up Tessa was just fine (she played with Emily's phone the rest of the night).
And more sparklers to end the evening.

After saying our goodbyes to everyone we headed out to Denny's for some late night breakfast. I love this family tradition of ours.
I wasn't really feeling well so we kept the night simple and headed home pretty early. But it was still a lot of fun :)
Happy (late) 4th!!

In need of a change...

our poor house was in need of a change so I decided to repaint the inside of the house. And yes I know it looks like a hurricane blew through here. I call it hurricane Dublin and Tessa ;)
We picked out a really nice gray color and I was so excited to get it all painted but then the paint dried and I was horrified.

The lovely gray color that we picked out morphed into a hideous lavender color over night. Part of me wanted to cry when I saw it. But instead it was back to Lowe's to re pick a color that wouldn't make our house look like a twelve years old room.

I took his picture really late at night and the flash kinda hides the colors but I think I found a new replacement color :)

Also Saturday was my sweet friend Michelle's birthday! So Michelle, Emily and I got to go out for a girls only birthday breakfast and it was a blast.

Complete with balloons, a candle in the sticky bun and the birthday song. I think I need an adult only breakfast once a week with my friends :)

Sparklers!

Getting some practice in for the big day ;)

Pre 4th of July

Sunday (July 3rd) before we left for church we took some pictures of us all dressed up.

Happy pre-4th of July!

Play group

So I just found these pictures from a play group we had like a month ago...but better late than never.

After swimming in the pools and running around they had chicken nuggets and frozen corn. Tessa has become addicted to this meal.

Tessa and Dublin.

Mason and Peter.

Yup that's my baby licking her plate clean...literally.

  • watch the Avenger's cartoon on netflix

  • Dublin's new favorite superhero is Iron Man

  • spend lot's of time outside (after Daddy gets off work and it cools down a little)

  • never got around to planting a garden (boo!)

  • put up a shed in the backyard!

  • cleaned out the garage and finally have room to move around in there!

  • try to keep Tessa's toes painted

  • Dublin went to Disneyland with Aunt Caitlin and Brian

  • Aunt Caitlin bought Dublin a sword at Disneyland and not a day goes by that he doesnt use it

  • still haven't been to the beach at all this summer

  • still plan on taking my kids to the beach...hopefully soon

  • finally have grass in our backyard

  • Tessa is offically 18 months old! Where does the time go?!?!

  • which means she is offically in the nursery now! And that means she's no longer my little baby :(
I love that she was army crawling everywhere! This little chick is too funny!
