christmas cookies

Dublin did such an amazing job decorating the sugar cookies this year! He's such a good helper.
And little miss Stinker!

She was really good at eating the sugar cookies and frosting. (PS we stopped using the blue frosting after I caught her eating it by the spoonful!)

I have the cutest little helpers ever! Even if they eat half of what they decorate ;)

Elf on the Shelf part 1...

{day 1} playing with cars
{day 2} playing video games

{day 3} listening to my ipod.

So far Dublin likes the elf on the shelf (a.k.a. Steve) and it has helped to end some fights between the kids but Tessa is not so phased by him. She just really wants to carry him around (a big no no!!) and doesn't understand that her Christmas presents are at risk when she misbehaves. Sigh...maybe next year.

Meeting our Elf on the Shelf...

We've got so much going on this month! Every day/night we find our elf, open a new Christmas book to read, read a spiritual Christmas story and do something off our advent calendar. Whoa! It is so much to do but it is a lot of fun.
Anyways tonight we wrote our letters to Santa. I let each of them "write" their own letter. Dublin told us we weren't aloud to know what he wants this year, only Santa can know ha ha. While he was "writing" his letter he was whispering what he was writing, and apparently he wants a snow globe and a T-Rex. Good to know.

Then we met our elf. We read the story and I went over the rules a few times while they played with the elf. Finally it was time to name him. I knew exactly what they would name him, so all night I tried steering them away from it. No such luck we ended up with Steve the Elf.

I'm excited to see how the kids react to Steve's shenanigans this month :)

nap time...

Because sometimes naps are better while watching the backyardigans with your big brother :)

Thanksgiving 2011

We had our very own Thanksgiving as a family together this year. Even though we were sad that we didn't get to spend it with family we were happy to have family time alone. Plus the food turned out amazing! And that's kinda the best part about Thanksgiving :)
Silly kids getting ready to eat.

Some of the food.

Showing off the amazing turkey!

And finally me with my two little turkeys :)

Us

A few pictures of my little love bugs :)

And because I never get pictures of me and the kids I jumped at the chance to take a few with them :)

Making silly faces.

All three of us (I love Dublin's face here).

"H" is for Harvest

For the letter "H" we went on a leaf hunt.

Made handy turkey hand prints.

made Indian hats with feathers that said what we're thankful for.

Enjoyed playing tag outside.

For snack we had turkey crackers (minus the feathers).

Random cuteness...

We've been enjoying the nice fall weather out doors as much as possible these last few days :)
