visiting the L.A. Zoo

Steve decided to take Friday off so we could spend some quality time together as a family so we packed up the kids and headed to the Zoo. By the time we got to the Zoo Dublin was covered from his breakfast of powder donuts and chocolate milk. I blame his Dad for that one!
Getting ready to go in.
Me and my honey.

Miss Tessa :)
If you look really close you can see her tooth on top! Yup that's right my baby is officially part of the people with teeth club :) Within one week three teeth popped out!!! Those were some long nights! And days for that matter :/ And she has one more that looks like it should be out by morning...oh I can't wait for teething to be done with!
Visiting Reggie the alligator. Dublin just loves alligators!

Squirrel!!! If you ask Dublin what sound a squirrel makes he says "I like nuts!" in a high pitched squirrel like voice. It's hilarious to say the least!

The super stinky flamingos.
And this time we got to visit the new elephant exhibit. It was really nice except the still had the elephants locked up so we didn't get to see them close up :(
We did however get to see lots of butts! I know the picture looks horrible but it's a black bear with his butt to us.
And a rhino butt.
Steve, Dublin and a rhino butt :)
That's a HUGE hippo!
The only picture I took of the elephant. His cage is like half of the zoo so it took forever to get a good picture of him!
Tessa pointing at...
you guessed it a monkey butt!

Dublin and I renamed the giraffes. This is Melman.
This is Geoffery. Those are the only two giraffe names we know so the baby giraffe is named just that baby giraffe.
It made me happy that this was the first place he wanted to go see when we got there :)

Oh I just can't get over how cute she is!!
Dublin was taking some pictures of us :)

More of his handy work :)

The zebras were fighting! It was kinda sad but my boys thought it was hilarious to watch.
This "cat" was so pissed off! The growls that were coming out of him were scary! I would never want to run into one of those in the wild!
This is Dublin's jungle. He has been asking for like the last two weeks to go to the jungle (I have no idea were he gets these ideas from) so I told him this was the jungle. He loved it!

This Mommy gorilla was feeding her baby and a little girl next to me was like "oh she's eating breast Daddy!". It was so funny. Then I decided it was time to pack up and head over to Ikea. We did a little shopping and came home to relax. All in all it was a great way to spend a Friday :)

playday at the park

This past week we decided to take the kids to the park and apparently so did every other parent in the AV. It was PACKED! But whatever we decided to stay, anyways and I'm pretty sure it would have been impossible to drag Dublin away from there.
Of course I spent most of the time trying to keep crazy people and their crazy kids away from my kids. But that's close to impossible at a city park. And Steve ran around chasing Dublin and pushing him on the swings.
We also had to keep moving our spot since this older couple was chain smoking right next to the playground (ugh disgusting!!) Now I remember why I prefer coming on the early on the weekdays when all these crazies aren't there.

But the kids had a blast! And it was really nice to spend time together as a family :) They both LOVED the slide!
We would have them "race" and they thought it was funny.

Awe they're so cute! They totally made it worth be around all the weirdos!
